Comfortable, compact, affordable apartment in the city centre, yet yards from the wilderness of the Royal Park . . . .
Royal Park Apartment is directly opposite the East Gate of the Royal Park, or Holyrood Park, the former hunting grounds of the Scottish kings. More recently, it featured in the films 'One Day' and 'The Illusionist'. Within two minutes walk from the apartment you can find yourself admiring a flotilla of swans at St Margaret's Loch and climbing up to the ruined St Anthony's Chapel for wide views of the City and across the Firth of Forth to the Kingdom of Fife. The more energetic will be drawn to climb to the summit of Arthur's Seat, over 3,000 feet above sea level. Here, the views are spectacular in all directions: Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, the rooftops and spires of the City, the Forth Bridge, the Port of Leith spread below like a three-dimensional map. It's a great place to get your bearings.
All this is on the doorstep, yet the apartment is within easy reach of the city centre by foot, car or efficient public transport. The visitor can walk through the Park to the foot of the Royal Mile, the Palace of Holyrood House, the Scottish Parliament and the Queen's Gallery with its enticing cafe and restaurant. Alternatively, there is a free car park at the East Gate as well as on-street parking. A fast regular bus service to every part of the city and the train and bus statio is three minutes walk away. Meadowbank shopping centre and Meadowbank Sports Centre are situated in the neighbourhood.
